The Pop in your Job: What drives me / what is my passion: Creating an AI-based Digital Companion for Mercedes-Benz vehicles that perceives, and interacts with, the world in a way that its users do, enables users to interact with such intelligence like they would with a human co-driver and builds a relationship between driver and their car based on trust and mutual understanding. CV Kal Mos is Vice President of AI & Digital Vehicle at Mercedes-Benz R&D NA. Kal is responsible for innovations in areas such as machine learning, connected services, user experience, big data, and analytics. Together with his team, he develops machine learning algorithms that make the driving experience intelligent and more personalized than ever before. Kal joined Mercedes-Benz in 2002 to create and lead the Connected Car group. Since then, he has been turning visionary ideas into exceptional products with a focus on end-to-end intelligent user experience. Most recently, he led the development of the first Mercedes-Benz intelligence engine for the highly praised MBUX infotainment system, which was revealed at the CES in January 2018. Kal spearheaded the development of the overall user experience for the self-driving research car F015, the 3D real-time renderings for the Concept IAA car as well as the advanced high-detailed 3D map for the Concept EQ car. Prior to Mercedes-Benz, Kal worked as the chief technologist of OnStar, where he led a team of General Motors' engineers in developing the OnStar in-vehicle hardware and software platform.
